About Us
Elephant Thoughts Global Development Initiatives is a registered Canadian charity, founded in 2002 by a group of teachers, principals and other professional educators.
Our mandate is to help promote high standards of education worldwide despite economic or geographic barriers while supporting initiatives which propagate cultural understanding and sharing among school aged children.
Primary Objectives:
Ensure availability of a proper education for children all over the world.
Contribute to a state of universal education and literacy by making new technologies in education and opportunities for continued education accessible to peoples of remote and impoverished communities as well as children from less fortunate families locally.
Support and initiate projects promoting cultural understanding, sharing, and education between western society and people from both Aboriginal and foreign world communities.
Support and initiate projects that improve the standards of living of the Third World and Aboriginal communities we are engaged with.
To meet our goals, we:
Generate funds through marketing and delivering unique and effective educational programs to Canadian educational organizations and schools, museums, community centers, and event planners. Proceeds raised from these programs contribute to our charitable mandate.
Gather expertise from hundreds of teachers and education professionals to create some of the most effective and innovative educational programs offered in any school, anywhere, both as programs for students and as professional development workshops for other teachers.
Facilitate educational experiences where children from urban, rural, Native, Non-Native, and foreign communities can learn from each other.
Build relationships and share resources with other like-minded organizations to strengthen each others ability to realize common mandates.
