INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL SUPPORT AND IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMS

Our goal is to build structured sustainable support systems schools in third world villages. This includes building and running new schools and working with already existing schools. These schools serve to provide an appropriate, cultural sensitive, modern education to children who otherwise would have received one.

Since inception, Elephant Thoughts has raised funding to pay for maintenance and basic school provisions for many sponsored schools. What makes Elephant Thoughts different from other organizations providing aide to the third world is that we don’t just build schools, we make a promise to the community that we will help support and maintain that school forever. Our organizational model is founded on this promise, and every program is designed to fuel our charity with the resources needed to fulfill this promise.

Our sponsored schools don’t just benefit from materials and funding. They also benefit from our annual ‘skills exchange’ trips. Many of our staff, instructors and business partners pledge their time and skills during a 2-6 week ‘train the teachers’ exchanges in Mirik.

More recently we have been able to expand our international program to include sponsoring children to attend post-secondary schools in other towns and villages. As each year passes, Elephant Thoughts gets closer to realizing our dream of providing access to education for all children, despite economic and geographic boundaries.
