Elephant Thoughts always has many teaching opportunities to offer. If you are a new teacher looking for some classroom experience, this is a great way to build your resume and get involved in the schools. You can decide to teach locally, in remote communities or you might want to try it all. Training and uniform will also be available to you! Some of the opportunities which might interest you include:

Teach what you love. Science is all around us and our workshops range from electricity to rocket launching. Teaching environmental stewardship or volunteering at our environmental film series. Your passion is needed!
Teaching Local Workshops:
Elephant Thoughts provides a series of curriculum-based, hands-on science workshops to support what the classroom teacher is trying to accomplish in their science curriculum. Workshops can run from 1.5 hours to a full school day.
Schools 4 Schools:
Schools 4 Schools is a series of 4 workshops spaced throughout the school year that introduces students to global development issues. Each class selects a project from our Catalogue of Needs, and proceeds to fundraise money to help a school in the developing world meet their educational needs. Activities include presentations, discussions and the use of film equipment to create a short video!

Raise money with a class for our international projects. Teach children about international development while developing compassion.
Teach in Northern Canada During the School Year:
Teachers are always needed for various opportunities in the remote communities Elephant Thoughts support. Activities involved with these assignments generally include:
- Curriculum-based, hands-on workshops supporting what the teachers are trying to accomplish in their classrooms
- Evening programs including laser tag in our giant inflatable dome, robotics challenges and rocket engineering
- Wacky science after school clubs for both kids and adult community members
- Assisting teachers/students with provincial science fair projects
- Managing an internship program where Cree students are hired and trained to teach after school programs to elementary students
- Tutoring for secondary 4 government exams

Workshop titles abound. Remote communities recieve leading edge workshops which inspire and motivate them.
Teach in the Summer CAYSI Program:
This exciting position allows volunteers to travel all across Canada to various First Nations communities to run science camps. Some of the hands-on, high interest activities you might teach include laser tag, robotics, rocket engineering, and wacky science activities!
