Explore your natural surrounding through a new lens

We often separate technology and nature, however, there are many beautiful ways in which exploring our natural world can be transformed or enhanced with the use of technology. This program takes students on a journey outdoors to collect, investigate, map and explore through educational applications of diverse technology. From digital mapping, to bird sound collection, to photography, videography and editing this curriculum linked workshop series will change the way we look at and understand the relationship between nature and technology. In this program your students will: 

  • Discover the harmony between technology and the natural world.
  • Examine their surroundings with drones, bird song recorders, digital applications and more.
  • Interact with a digital mapping application to map your findings.

Who

This program is offered to schools in the Georgian Triangle and surrounding area. The program is best geared toward students in grades 4 through 8.

 

what

A 1/2 day, outdoor workshops based on the interaction between technology and nature. Students will use drones, sound recording tools, create a digital map and more! 

how

Through in-person, outdoor instruction and access to technological equipment. Equipment will be sanitized prior to workshop and delivery will be outdoors, allowing for social distancing.
