JOURNEY NORTH
Journey North is a one of a kind, life changing opportunity for emerging leaders aged 21-35. The program is designed for individuals driven by a passion for creating meaningful change, and who view education as a catalyst for personal and community growth.
30-50 young leaders take part in the program annually following successful application to the program.
This young leaders facilitate instructional experiences with hands-on STEM workshops to support Indigenous students in remote communities, paired with comprehensive pre-service training in curriculum, cultural sensitivity, and leadership.

PROGRAM:
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT CAMPS
This weeklong, overnight retreat immerses youth ages 11 through to adulthoodt in a transformative nature experience at our Riverstone Campus in Ontario or Pathsaala Campus in New Brunswick. Delivered organization-to-organization for groups like Indigenous youth, Inner City Youth non-profits, student councils, and university groups, each program is custom-built around the partner’s goals.
Participants build leadership and teamwork skills through workshops in art, digital media, and astronomy; hands-on learning in cooking, foraging, beekeeping, and maple syrup making; and outdoor traditions like campfires, hiking, and yoga — all designed to help youth discover their voice, build lasting friendships, and grow into confident community leaders.

REMOTE SCHOOL ACADEMIC SUPPORT
Remote School Academic Support brings holistic tutoring, technology training, and in-school leadership programs to under-resourced schools — primarily Indigenous schools across Northern Canada, reaching roughly 100 schools each year. Delivered by a deliberately diverse team of educators, the program helps schools boost graduation and attendance rates, fill gaps left by specialist shortages, and expand STEM programming, now reaching over 10,000 students annually.
By investing in remote communities today, Elephant Thoughts helps youth pursue post-secondary paths and return home as tomorrow’s Changemakers — teachers, nurses, doctors, and leaders across every field.
