The Students
The young people we serve come from a wide range of circumstances, but share a common thread: they are Changemakers meeting real barriers. Among them:
- Youth navigating poverty and economic instability
- Refugees rebuilding their lives in a new country
- Indigenous youth from remote, northern communities
- Urban youth coming from places affected by violence and poberty
- Youth from rural communities facing unemployment rates well above the national average
What defines them isn’t their circumstance. It’s the potential underneath it, potential that, once recognized and supported, becomes leadership, resilience, and lasting change.
The Students
The young people we serve come from a wide range of circumstances, but share a common thread of high potential meeting real barriers. Among them:
- Youth navigating poverty and economic instability
- Refugees rebuilding their lives in a new country
- Indigenous youth from remote, northern communities
- Inner-city youth already demonstrating leadership potential
- Youth from rural communities facing unemployment rates well above the national average
What defines them isn’t their circumstance. It’s the potential underneath it, potential that, once recognized and supported, becomes leadership, resilience, and lasting change.
Changemakers from All Over the World
The young people who come through Elephant Thoughts’ programs arrive from many different backgrounds, cultures, and corners of the world — and the photos here offer just a glimpse of that range. They represent only a small sample of the many students who have taken part over the years, each with their own story, but all shaped by the same experience of discovering what they’re capable of.
