Our Team
Elephant Thoughts was founded by certified teachers, who remain the core of our team today, alongside sector-specific experts, social workers, and project managers who each bring their own expertise to the work. What truly sets our team apart, though, is lived experience — many staff have faced poverty, displacement, or systemic barriers similar to the youth we serve, shaping how they teach and mentor with genuine empathy.
This program builds confident young leaders through nature-based retreats focused on self-discovery, community, and hands-on skill-building, alongside academic tutoring, technology training, and STEM support for under-resourced schools across Northern Canada.
Faces Behind the Work
Some of our strongest staff members are our own former students. Young people who came through our programs as participants, found their path, and chose to come back, not as youth we serve, but as the mentors, educators, and leaders guiding the next generation of Changemakers.
